Teaching assignment in media production in the Human Centered Computing master's programme at Reutlingen University.
Seven workshops
In the winter semester 2026/27: concept, story, visual language, production planning & law, sound, light, post-production. At the end there's a film of their own, with a presentation.
Teaching approach
Practice instead of lectures: hands-on workshops with a little theory input. The students learn hands-on how a film project really works – project management included – so they're prepared for the real world. 70 percent of the grade comes from the interim submissions and 30 percent from the film and presentation – the journey counts more than the finished result. LearningArc, by the way, started out with feedback on film treatments.
Since when
Lecturer at Reutlingen University since March 2024. Before that I was there from 2017 as an assistant in the video practical course and in video production – I just switched sides of the lecture hall.
